When working on ‘WInged Spectre’ , my tutor Mr Stephen Buntrock introduced me to what is known as pointillism.. an impressionist term for painting with dots or small dashes using unmixed colour layered to portray light.
Pointillism was the last thing on my mind when starting the new painting but, like all good things, it just happened as if by magic.. and much to my surprise I have found the technique to be both challenging and fun…
Like most of my work, the conceptual process is rather convoluted, changing direction as paint dictates,, must really work on being more disciplined, but discipline has never been my middle name.. I just love listening to the whisper of shape and texture and how colour dictates the terms of composition.
Its not finished yet, but its definitely on its way..
Will update when complete.
