When a painting is nearing completion I stand back and look for that ‘something’ which tells me it is finished. Before leaving the Gold Coast Art School for the day, I took a photo the better to contemplate the image. Its not the first time I have done this, the camera does to an image what the naked eye cannot see. Colours are highlighted, shapes and design become more blurred/defined, and suddenly the answer is clear. Annoyingly, by the time the brain finally comprehended what the eye/camera was seeing, I was in the car heading home.. minus the painting.. grrrrr.
Ahh well, patience is virtue they tell me. Will have to wait until next week.
